Brain Flex v2

Limber up your Neurons
日本語
Brain Flex is an experimental (and free) composition of brain wave frequencies designed to perform the following:

  • If you are in a stuck, negative or unproductive state it can lead you someplace else.
  • If you are already feeling good, it can make you feel even better.
  • If you’d just like to exercise your mind, running it through a series of state changes by altering its external stimulation in unpredictable ways, it can do this too.

Our brain waves fall into predictable patterns. Unless we are experiencing new people, places and events regularly, there’s little demand to increase its flexibility or range. If we’re not meditating regularly, or effectively, we may not hit the more interesting realms of lower alpha and theta except on the quick slide into sleep. And may not notice when we do.

This thirty minute adventure takes the brain through the gamut of all the typical states of beta, alpha, theta and a splash of delta. But it also peaks into some experimental frequencies like gamma (above beta) where research is discovering that unusual mental experiences like mystical and shamanic states may live. Or at least correlate. EEG studies found the affects of the South American, hallucinogenic alkaloid mixture “ayahuasca” produced the particular gamma frequency we chose.

“woah… this thing is awesome… i listened to this for an hour before going to bed and i dreamed a whole week in one night…”

We haven’t had any reports of people hallucinating with this composition, but we would like to make a few suggestions on its use.

  1. For best results, listen with headphones.
  2. Please do not listen to this while driving, flying a spaceship or any other activity that may need your full attention for safety.
  3. It’s probably not a good idea to listen to this before going to bed, as it tends you leave you energized.

OK, so prepare for a journey, we hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to send us feedback through our contact form or comments section.

I experimented somewhat with altering brainwave frequency, only to find out my brain often stubbornly refuses to tune out of beta (i even have insomnia sometimes). It goes to great lengths like producing headache or small muscular cramps to prevent from altering the frequency. But BrainFlex did not cause either, made me feeling refreshed, so it looks promising, thanks!

Great stuff - although I can’t help to think about the dangers as well - I imagine you could achieve the opposite effect with this technique as well (like psychosis or anger).

This really helps me out, though - I can actually pull off 80-hour workweeks now without losing focus. - thanks!

  3. Grasshopper Says:

Thanks Niles; yes, meditation can affect some that way too, which essentially what these entrainment methodologies do —allow access to deeper parts of the mind— which is a vast and largely unexplored space. Although an 80 hour work week sounds a bit scarier to us than exploring the unknown :-)

I yo-yo for a living, so I thought it was pretty cool how this helped w/ my hand-eye coordination. I felt very rejuvinated after listening to this. I use it very frequently. Thank you.

  5. Damien ander Says:

Is it safe to use this everyday? to help lets say… studies or other work?

  6. Grasshopper Says:

Damien, entrainment has powerful effects on the brain, as you’ve probably noticed. But there are only two warnings. Many frequencies, especially those available on this site, will alter your consciousness, sometimes dramatically, so please don’t listen to them while doing anything that requires your full attention for safety, like driving, riding bikes in traffic, operating machinery, etc. We put this warning in the article.

The second caveat, a little more esoteric, is that if you use photic entrainment (e.g.pulsing lights) with xenon based strobes and you have a history of epilepsy, certain waveforms have been found in some cases to induce seizures. We don’t have photic entrainment embedded in Brain Flex and no seizures have reported as induced purely through auditory stimuli. We do, however, have photic entrainment on the Biorecharge, but we are not using wave forms on that CD which are implicated in these rare cases and most people are using led goggles rather than xenon strobe lights when they use entrainment products. Other than that, you should be good to go.

I was just wondering if I was able to do different things while listening to it, or if it would be better to listen to it with say…my eyes closed. When I say doing different things, I mean surfing the web, talking to friends online, etc.

  8. Eric Says:

The second i started listening with my headphones my neck felt relaxed, almost limp. About 3 minutes in my skin felt softer, like a pillow. It almost made me go to sleep even when I had it as loud as possible. Very comfortable.

  9. Grasshopper Says:

    Hi Sal,

Feel free to experiment and find which activities it complements (as long as it’s not driving and such.) The neat thing about changing your state is that new states can bring all sorts of different resources and styles of attention to bear; this may mesh better with some activities than others and the flexibility and skill you bring to the table for utilizing these states is a big factor as well.

hi thanks for this free 30minute sample. I have various other brain wave cds . I frequently use theta and then gamma and hyper gamma wave on a daily basis. This is great as it goes through all frequencies to give your brain a real workout.
The concentation levels i achieve are outstanding, i feel tingling in my head and an energy sensation on the top of my head and in between my eyebrows.
This is also great for intense chi kung sessions.
    thanks

Heya, I do alot of brainwave meditating and I compliment you on this awesome version. I will definately spend alot more time with this.
